Description
If the transmission mode displays actual input or transmission gear display actual message is missing from the Body Control Module (BCM) for less than the programmed length of time, the PRNDL display remains in the last indication mode. If the BCM does not receive the transmission mode display actual input or transmission gear display actual message is missing from the TCM for longer than the programmed length of time. If the transmission mode display actual input or transmission gear display actual message is missing from the BCM, the Instrume Panel Cluster (IPC) defaults the PRNDL display to blank. A continuous memory Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) that sets if the IPC detects a short to ground on the park detect switch input, pulling the circuit low with a VSS input over 16 km/h (10 mph), indicating that the vehicle is in motion.
